Report: TCU to join Big East

It's big news, but creates some problems as well. Gonna be interesting to see if they remove a member from the conference to make this work. Click on pic for article.

UC's Pead eyes 1,000 yards

Click on the pic for the article. Most notably:

"Pead, a junior from Columbus, could become the first University of Cincinnati back since Richard Hall in 2004 to hit the 1,000-yard mark Saturday when the Bearcats play at Connecticut."

If we can get that consistent running game going it will make our offense for years to come much more dynamic. Next year with Zach and Pead on O and less youth on D could be exciting.

Cincinnati Eases Past Savannah State, 54-41

In case you haven't noticed UC BB is off to a good start and undefeated. Much better team, if not b/c there is no one star player. Fun to see some hustle return, floor burns, and up-tempo play.

Big weekend for the Bearcats. UC FB plays at UConn at Noon (regional ESPN Plus telecast) and then the BB team takes on Dayton downtown at US Bank in an NCAA exempt tourny (not a UC home game). Tickets are available and show up if you can!

Bearcats Beat RU

I'll take results like that anyday. If we can find a defense next year we might be really scarry! Clikc on the pic for the story.

1819

Celebrate the University of Cincinnati's founding year. Support 1819 and help us rise in the ranks of alumni giving!

Did you know only 11% of UC's alumni gave back to UC last year? According to U.S. News & World Report, UC’s record of alumni giving pales in comparison to other universities, ranking 13th among the 16 Big East universities and far behind Xavier, Ohio State, Miami University and the University of Dayton.

UC deserves better, but we need the support of every alum to make a difference. So join your fellow Bearcats to show the world the strength and commitment of UC’s alumni!

Your contribution of at least $18.19 puts us one step closer to outshining our Big East competitors and further empowers and validates the value of your own degree. Together, we are Proudly Cincinnati.

Make your gift today and celebrate almost 200 years of UC pride!

Welcome Back Cincinnati

If you didn't notice, Mick Cronin and UC are on the front page of ESPN men's basketball for how well this last recruiting class went. Does it mean we're back? Maybe, but you've got to get that talent to gel and improve. Hopefully this season goes well since we finally have some senior/junior leadership, depth, and experience. It all comes down to this.

But take a second and look at the rankings and you'll see how hard it is for even a good coach to be successful in the BE. 8 of the top 25 recruiting classes are BE teams. Brutal.

UC vs. RU Tailgate Info

In good news, regardless of the score or record, we've never lost a tailgate! With that in mind, this weekend is packed with a 1PM UC basketball game and a 7:30 kickoff to the football game. We'll be rolling in around 12:45 and will set-up if anyone wants to stay there and watch TV, otherwise Tom and I will be heading over to the basketball game and starting the tailgate at 3PM.

There will of course be a keg, and please respond to the eInvite so we have an accurate gauge of who's coming. We'll be doing pasta and beef stew as the main courses, sides are always appreciated.

Right now the weather looks good but cool and we'll have multiple heaters running inside the tents. Should keep everyone nice and toasty. Email me at armybearcat@gmail.com with any questions. Go CATS!

'Cats Must Keep Building

The voice of reason, Dan Hoard, weighs in. Check out his article here. As an aside, I'm as frustrated as anyone, but please don't boo. While I agree it's your right to do so, it has cost UC recruits in the past and only makes the process harder. They are at every game.
