The Bearcat football family added another Super Bowl ring this past season. New Orleans Saints linebacker Troy Evans played a major role in helping his team win a championship, serving as a catalyst and captain for special teams.

On Wednesday morning he paid a visit to the UC football team during their daily workout and told them that with hard work and believing in each other that they could win a 3rd straight Big East crown and a national title. Coming from a Super Bowl champ, he words carried a great deal of strength with the current squad.

After graduating from Lakota High School in Cincinnati, Troy was a walk-on at UC his freshman year. He went on to a successful career as a Bearcat and went on to lead the team in tackles in his senior season.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by St. Louis in 2001, Evans will be starting his 10th season in the NFL this year.
