The 2010 edition of the UCATS membership guide is now available and can be downloaded in PDF format at http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/cinn/sports/ucats/auto_pdf/10-11-ucats-member-guide.pdf. Highlights include:
1. Our UCATS membership has risen from 1,962 members in 2006 to 4,539 in 2010. Outstanding improvement!
2. Unfortunately, our total UCATS membership places us 7th out of 8 football playing programs in the BE and in the bottom half of basketball programs in the BE. To put things in perspective, Louisville has 10,000 equivalent UCAT members, WVA 8,000, RU 5,929, and down to USF (the only team below us) at 3,500.
In today's competitive landscape, with conference realignment looming, and with the difficulty of winning in both football and basketball, support is critical for UC to continue winning at a level we hope and expect. Winning with less is certainly possible, but it lowers your margin for error significantly.
I’m hoping each Bearcat fan continues to consider joining UCATS either for tickets, or simply to support UC athletics. For as little as $50 per year (tax deductable) up to thousands, each additional member regardless of amount helps us achieve our goal. There is strength in numbers. Please consider joining.
