Sept 11th UC vs. Indiana St. Tailgate
1. Tailgate start time is 8:30AM. If you beat us there--you da man.
2. Our main breakfast dishes will be waffles hot off the iron and goetta breakfast sandwiches off the grill. Feel free to bring sides as you see fit and sign up for Chris' eInvite to help us manage who and what's coming/how much to bring.
3. Yes, I'll have a keg. Did you expect anything less? Full, big, and cold.
4. Donations are welcome and these are simply guidelines; more or nothing are both accepted with the same smile. If newbies ask we recommend $5 per person to drink, $10 to eat and drink unless you helped provide the food/sides, in which $5 works fine.
5. Ahh, the after prom, er tailgate. When the final cannon fires we'll be back at our spots with TV's on, corn hole being tossed, tents up, and beer flowing. Depending on how many people are there we may burn some burgers and dogs or have everyone chip in for pizza delivery. As corny as it sounds, it will be a game day decision.
6. As always, maps to where we are and tailgate info can be found by clicking the "tailgate" tab on the lower left of the page.
As a quick note, this game is being sponsored by the US Army and ROTC. There will be military vehicles on display, a helo, probably a flyover and/or jumpers, and you'll probably see some cadets, cadre and their families at the tailgate. Go Army and GO CATS!

WHY: With the construction of the UC practice fields underway, many UC football fans needed a tailgate area to call home. The Short Vine Business Association and the Uptown Consortium created a unique and exciting street event called the Bearcat Block Party. The event includes tailgate staples like music, food and drinks. Area lots surrounding Short Vine will be open for attendees to park their cars. Then, partygoers can take a short walk or hop on a convenient shuttle to the festivities.
DESCRIPTION: For each UC home game, the 2600 block of Short Vine will shut down two hours before the game and two hours following, for a street festival featuring live entertainment, food and beverages, and a few surprises. All Short Vine favorites along the block will also be open for business. Additionally, the Block Party will broadcast the game so attendees won't miss a minute of the action.

Represent the C
"Starting to get excited and I wish I could be there for the whole season but I still think I will make the USF game.
Oh and by the way one of the Soldiers in my unit recently took leave back to the Cincy area. He was catching a flight out of Atlanta in uniform with another Soldier and as he walked through 1st Class on his way to coach seats, he noticed a couple of guys sitting there with UC shirts on. He said it was nice to see a familiar sight. Before the plane took off the flight attendant came back and asked both of them to come up to first class as the two gentlemen in UC shirts insisted that they switch seats. My Soldier initially declined but the attendant said the UC guys insisted. So my Soldier and another Soldier got to ride first class to Cincy. Turns out it was Butch Jones... I don't care if he can coach or not, he's got my respect!"

News & Notes
"Our season tickets are already sold at a record pace and with 40 days left until our home opener we are on pace to sell out for the season. Revenue wise we have already booked more football revenue for the 2010 season as of July 30 than we did for the total 2006 and 2007 seasons - COMBINED. As noted above the biggest need for UC Football at this point in time is higher end seating options, enhanced amenities for fans (parking options, tailgating, etc...) and of course, more general seating to market to our expanding fan base.
Our sales plan had a significant media push from March-May, and picked up again last week and will run through the Oklahoma game, which is our biggest opportunity to sell group tickets this year. With more season tickets sold the amount of group opportunities will be limited to games where our opponents turn in tickets in the weeks and days leading up to the games. Keep in mind that these seats are not in the prime areas of Nippert Stadium, so the best way to get a solid seat for the season is to buy now, before we are sold out.
The entertainment dollar is tighter this year than in any sales season out of the past decade - maybe longer than that, as the Reds are in the hunt for a playoff spot and the Bengals are signing big names. This fact itself makes the sales numbers achieved for the 2010 season truly extraordinary for UC Football, which is still an emerging brand which has embraced three head coaches in the last 5 years. Brand continuity leads to winning which translates into consumer confidence. UC has been able to expand the base in 5 straight sales cycles with the leadership of the program changing. Not many brands out there can match boast these results in the face of such change. "
